Weaving Programme

Main Aim of the Programme

Anna Karatzani, Coordinator of the Weaving Programme

Drawing on the techniques of traditional weaving and the distinctive decorative features of each region of Greece, the Weaving Programme aims to create channels of innovation for the development and promotion of competitive and contemporary products. These products will contribute not only to the revival of this craft in Greece, but also to its further development and dissemination.

The main aim of the training programme is to equip trainees with productive skills and high-level knowledge in weaving, enabling them to make use of direct employment opportunities in the weaving sector and/or to start their own professional activity, either as self-employed practitioners, as a business, or as weaving instructors.
