Main Aim of the Programme

The main objective of the project is, on the one hand, to preserve, protect and disseminate traditional ceramics and their values within society and, on the other hand, to safeguard historical ceramic techniques and their designs, so that they may serve both as knowledge of our cultural heritage and as a channel of innovation for today’s creative and cultural industries.
This will facilitate the creation of a knowledge-based society with a clear cultural foundation and will become a source of innovation, competitiveness and promotion of new resources, which will also contribute to the development of ceramics.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the programme, trainees will have:
Acquired knowledge of ceramic creation from antiquity to the present day and its various expressions, with particular emphasis on Greek folk culture, as well as knowledge of materials and their properties, construction techniques, and methods of surface shaping and decoration.
Developed skills and competences in ceramic production and artistic creation, using both traditional and contemporary materials and techniques.
Formed and developed their own personal artistic “language” and expression.
Developed the ability to connect production with the needs and preferences of both the Greek and international markets.
Training in marketing, costing and entrepreneurship will provide trainees with the necessary tools to organise their business and/or workshop, ensure its effective and sustainable operation, and integrate production into the Greek and international markets.
Successful Completion of the Programme Leads To
Recognised Certification and Professional Rights
Certificate of Specialised Training
Awarded by the K.E.DI.VI.M. of the University of West Attica, with the possibility of a subsidised application for certification through ESYD.
